Snowmass
Snowmass Village has a long rich history. Once settled by ranching families in the early 1900's, the mountain did not become a ski resort until the mid sixties. At that point 5 lifts were installed and the hayfields were subdivided and sold as plots for houses. Today, Snowmass Village has world class resorts, amazing Ski/in Ski/out amenities and the quaint village feel. Be sure to stop by our store for all your ski and snowboard equipment needs. Our location is right in the village for the easiest convience.
Snowmass Mountain is the largest of the Aspen ski areas, and has a wide variety of skiing. Here you'll find terrain and conditions for every individual. Snowmass is known for wide open groomers, three terrain parks, one superpipe, one beginner pipe and a family friendly atmosphere. With an annual snowfall of 300 inches, 147 miles of trails, 24 lifts, and a vertical rise of 4,406 feet there is a trail for every person at every level.
In 2016/17 Ski Co made notable improvements to the mountain in the off season. The old fixed grip High Alpine charilift was relocated and replaced with a high speed quad. This new chair cuts ride up time in half, and allows access to the chair from more areas. An additional 120 acres of gladed terrain was prepped in the areas around Sneaky's, Reidar's, Freefall/Glissade, Castle, and Long Shot.
With the new additions to the mountain you'll want to spend a few extra days of your Snowmass ski vacation getting acquainted.
